How often is the ClickCat database updated?
The JGBM Product Database which feeds ClickCat is continually updated with new product, specifications, pricing & images on a daily/hourly basis. The ClickCat websites are automatically updated each evening using the data from this database. In many cases new product is live on our website before the manufacturers have updated their own sites

I have a CSV/Excel file of other products, how can I get that product range on my ClickCat website?
You can create your own catalogues and add product items individually or use the upload facility which allows you to incorporate existing product data files (CSV format) into your shop catalogues, for instance the pricing spreadsheets from Spicers/Kingfield etc.

Can I add my own Special Offers?
Yes, the selection of special offers that appear on your website can be set to automatic or manual.
Set to automatic and no further administration is required; all offers that appear on the JGBM website will be replicated on to your shop website with pricing with your default profit margin added on. In manual mode you can browse & select any product from the entire catalogue which are then gathered and appear in your Special Offer Administration area. From here you can set pricing, add offer text & choose which offers are to go live, and also set start & finish dates for an offer. Click here for more info

I already have a website and want to keep my domain name; can I get the ClickCat catalogue to appear on my website?
Yes, the ClickCat catalogue can be framed within your existing website, this then doesn't show the ClickCat domain name

What will my website address be?
The default ClickCat website address (URL) would be www.clickcat.co.uk/yourdealername which is the easiest solution for those without an existing website or domain name. If a dealer registers a domain name such as www.dealername.co.uk he can point this to the ClickCat address which hides the ClickCat domain name

Existing website users can also 'frame' their ClickCat website within their site, again hiding the domain name

I have an existing shopping basket on my website, how can I add your products & images?
If you sign up to the ClickCat Library Service you will automatically be updated with pricing, specification and have access to the latest images. These will be available as a CSV, XML or other popular formats which can then be imported into your existing website solution. By logging on to the admin area you can schedule when you wish to be updated with your product file. A direct link to the JGBM data will also be available but this will require an advanced level of programming on the dealer's website

How does the pricing structure work?
The websites pricing is configured by the user using a hierarchal pricing structure. The user controls his margin at each level. Starting at a global mark-up margin for the whole website, that global price is over ridden by the presence of a margin set per manufacturer, which in turn is over ridden by each category margin and finally an individual item price can be entered

How is carriage administered at the checkout?
A carriage charge per order can be set in the administration area, this is based on order value. Any number of price breaks & carriage charges can be set. This can also be set so that carriage becomes FOC when a certain order value is reached

How are credit card transactions handled?
ClickCat accepts all major credit cards with security & credit checking, supported by our preferred online payment service provider Velocity Pay. By default the system is configured to use Velocity Pay. ClickCat dealers would first need to acquire from their bank an Internet Merchant Number and set up an account with Velocity Pay. Download an information pack here. All transactions are verified on-line. Dealers are emailed credit card authorisation codes & details of the order for processing. If the customer's delivery address information does not match the card address the dealer will be notified via email so that further checking can be carried out

Alternatively if on-line credit card checking is not required, the customers order & credit card details can be sent to the dealer as an encrypted email for processing using their existing credit card transaction system. Although this feature is built into ClickCat we do not recommend this method as banking regulators are tightening up on internet trading methods including encrypting emails and manually processing
NB. Encryption requires the user to download ClickCat security certificates into their existing email system so that encrypted emails can be read.
